Who's setting the table
The Mahjong Room is new. The people running it are not.
Curated by Bhawna & Tulika, who have run The Signature Soirée since 2025. Volume I sold out at sixty stalls and put seven hundred guests through the door in a single day. The Mahjong Room runs inside The Collective – Volume II.

What's Included
What ₹2,800 Buys
Your seat, all day
A place in the room for the whole of 11 AM – 8 PM.
High tea, throughout
Tea, coffee and a snack table, refreshed through the day. Nothing to order, nothing to settle.
Marshals on the floor
Scores kept, rules settled, hands taught. Nobody referees their own table.
Tables set and ready
Tiles, racks, dice, wind indicators, score sheets. Bring nothing.
Prizes through the day
Hampers from the labels showing with us. Nothing is played for money.
Priced as one thing, because it is one thing. No bar tab, no cover.
Before you ask
The things people message us about
I've never played. Can I still come?
Yes. Marshals are on the floor all day and will teach you a hand from scratch — plenty of people in the room will be playing their first game. If a table turns out to be above you, say so and a marshal will move you to one that suits.
Which mahjong do you play — Taiwanese or Classic?
Both. Classic is thirteen tiles in hand, Taiwanese is sixteen, and there are tables for each. Tell a marshal what you play when you arrive and they'll put you where you belong.
Is anything played for money?
No. Nothing at any table is played for money and there is no stake beyond the entry. Prizes through the day are hampers curated from the labels showing at The Collective.
Reserve a Seat
Two Questions, Then Pay.
We take the seats for you first, and only then ask you to pay — nobody is ever asked to pay for a seat that isn't already theirs.
Coming with people? Say how many on the first step and we take the seats together — one payment, one reference, one name at the door, up to 8.
Two things before you book
- If we can't seat you, your money is back in full within 48 hours — or a seat at the next sitting, your choice.
- The fee doesn't come back if you cancel or don't turn up. A seat you don't use is an empty chair at someone else's table.
Read all six house rules
- Seats are not refundableOnce your payment is matched, the fee is not returned if you cancel or don't turn up.
- If we cannot seat you, you are refunded in fullThe one exception, and it is absolute. If anything on our side means you don't get the seat you paid for, you have your money back within 48 hours to the account you paid from, or a seat at the next sitting — your choice. The same applies to an overpayment or a duplicate transfer, which we return the same day.
- Tea, coffee and snacks are servedHigh tea runs for the length of your sitting, and it is already in the ₹2,800.
- Every table is marshalledA marshal keeps score, settles rules and calls time. Their call on a disputed hand is the final one.
- Tables come setTiles, racks, dice and score sheets are provided.
- Prizes at every tableThe highest score at each table takes a hamper curated from the labels showing with us at The Collective. The highest score of the sitting takes the house prize. Nothing is played for money, and there is no stake beyond the entry — everyone who plays goes home with something.
Registering is your agreement to the above. If any of it needs discussing, message us before you pay.
We use your name, phone and email only to run this sitting and to match your payment. We delete the list ninety days after the event.
